I am Ruth Schaller and I founded Schaller Education Solutions in 2016, in order provide executive function evaluation and coaching to children and adults. I recognized a need in my older daughters, who I home school, and my students, in the area of executive function skills. As a professional and a homeschooling parent of many years, I decided to complete training in order to help my daughters and the students I taught. Through sharing stories of success in homeschooling and classroom settings, I began to realize how many others could use the skills I had learned. I found this to be the case for adults and children.
I have two masters degrees from Washington College in english and psychology and over thirty years of experience in the education field. I spent my early career in community social work and doing research. Later, I worked as a guidance counselor at a private high school in Maryland. While there, I completed annual course placements, administered standardized testing, taught study skills, and assisted in all aspects of the college application process. More recently, I have completed five years of continuing education in executive function training through ResearchILD’s annual conference at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. I have taken many courses in professional development through Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and have piloted the SMARTS executive function program through ResearchILD. Additionally, I am certified as an Equipping Minds Cognitive Development Level I Mediator, have taught literature to high school students and executive function skills in both individual and group settings.
